شهادات حادثة مطعم أرتاكوي تعتبر أكثر رهبة وخوفا من الحادثة ذاتها، إذ روى أحد العاملين في المطعم أثناء الهجوم الإرهابي الذي وقع في إسطنبول ما حدث قائلا: «في لحظات أصابنا الرعب، هربنا إلى الأسفل إذ اختبأنا، ثم ذهبت وأحضرت صديقا لي، قفزت بلا وعي من الخوف» لا أعرف إلى أين أتجه. وأوضح في تصريحات نشرت في صحيفة حرييت التركية «أنه رأى شخصين وهما يُطلقان النار، بينما كان داخل النادي ما بين 700 و800 شخص. ووقعت الحادثة في أحد أشهر المطاعم في إسطنبول وروت سيدة أخرى للصحيفة أصيب زوجها في الحادثة وتم نقله للمستشفى شهادتها عن ما وقع قائلة: «كنا هناك نستمتع بوقتنا، وحينما نظرت إلى ورائي في لحظة ما بدأ الناس يجرون، وبعدها طلب مني زوجي أن أهدأ». وأضافت الشاهدة واسمها سنيم أويانك: «الناس مروا فوقي بعد أن سقطت، وقد أُطلق حينها النار على زوجي الذي يدعى لطفي أويانيك في 3 أماكن من جسده».

وتمكنت سنيم التي أصيبت بخدوش طفيفة على جسمها من الخروج هناك حينما كان مهاجم يطلق النار بشكل عشوائي باستعمال سلاحين، مؤكدة هي الأخرى أن شخصا آخر كان معه. وأستمرت قائلة «كانت رائحة البارود في كل مكان.. أغمي علي من هول ما حدث، فزوجي والناس كانوا يسبحون في الدماء. بعدها حضرت سيارات الإسعاف والشرطة».
